Nominate your fire department to win a grain rescue tube

#AgChat with us

In conjunction with Grain Bin Safety Week (Feb. 19–25, 2017), Nationwide invites you to participate in a special edition of #AgChat on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, 7-9 p.m. (CT). This unique, online conversation will review the handling, transporting and storing of grain from different perspectives and generate insight on grain bin accident prevention. We hope you'll join us.

What is #AgChat?

#AgChat is a weekly moderated conversation on Twitter for people in the business of producing, processing or distributing agricultural products along the food, feed, fuel and fiber chains. It’s a virtual venue for participants on Twitter to share viewpoints and ideas about the issues impacting agriculture, such as farm safety.

How do these chats work?

#AgChat is part of Twitter, a free social networking and microblogging service that enables users to send and read “tweets” – short messages limited to 140 characters.

How do I get started?

If you do not already have a Twitter account, you will need to visit Twitter.com and complete the sign-up process. Before the start of the chat, go to Tweetchat.com and enter #agchat as the room. This will automatically include the hashtag in your tweets and allow you to participate in the fast-paced conversation in real time.

How do I follow or participate in the conversation?

Chats begin with 15 minutes of networking (please introduce yourself and your interest in agriculture as well as your name, brief job description), followed by questions posed by a moderator. The chat is fast-paced, insightful and, often, colorful. The final 5 minutes are reserved for “pitching.” Participants can plug their blog, website or product or ask for feedback on a business-related idea.
